What is The Arc?

The Arc of St. Lucie County provides services, programs, and advocacy for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in St. Lucie County, Florida.


How does one pay for services at The Arc?

We accept Medicaid Waiver and will bill Medicaid for the services we provide. Another option is private pay.  The Arc can assist you with getting signed up with Medicaid Waiver too. Call us at our Administrative Offices for more information (or see below for more information).


What is Medicaid Waiver?

iBudget Florida is the name for the Medicaid Waiver program in Florida for persons with Developmental Disabilities. In this program, you can get financial assistance for Adult Day Training, Supported Employment, Transportation, Respite care, Companion Services, Residential assistance and more.


How do I sign up dor Medicaid Waiver?

The Agency For Persons With Disabilities handles the Medicaid waiver program for persons with developmental disabilities. This program is iBudget Florida.

What is a Developmental Disability?

A “developmental disability” is a disorder or syndrome that is attributable to retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, or Prader-Willi syndrome; that manifests before the age of 18; and that constitutes a substantial handicap that can reasonably be expected to continue indefinitely. (Definition from APD).


What area do you provide services in?

We provide services in St. Lucie County, which includes both Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, FL. 


Do you have transportation?

Yes. We provide transportation services all over the county. 


What services do you provide?

We offer:

Supported Employment and Vocational Training;

Adult Day Training;

Volunteering Program;

A Children’s After School and Summer Camp Program;

Residential Services;

Coordination with APD, Support Coordinators, and Florida Medicaid and iBudget.
